Just so you know, honed granite will look darker because you are removing the shine, which reflects light and makes the stone look lighter. Putting in a simple off white subway or larger tile in a repeating pattern (no fancy mosaics in the middle, like it has now) would totally put the focus on that gorgous rock. The space was awesome, it had the open floor plan we wanted, and it was newly renovated. Small, mindful updates done well. First, all of the pieces were stacked like those in the picture and that is NOT how you will view them. So if you want a white tile, make sure its a white with warm undertones.
